After more than 100,000 people filled the streets and beaches of Puerto Peñasco over Easter Weekend, we are still in the thralls of the two-week adventure known as Semana Santa (though schools are back in session come Monday). With about near perfect weather, and May peaking over the horizon, let’s run down the weekend.
This Friday, all of Puerto Peñasco and quite frankly Sonora…and Mexico…will be cheering on our hometown boxing champion Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada as he goes in the ring outside L.A. for a rematch with current World Super flyweight champion Sor Rungvisai of Thailand. (the bout was rescheduled from the initial date earlier in April) So, be sure to pick your favorite watering hole to cheer on our very own GALLO!
