vols-2017-2 17th Rocky Point Rally surpasses expectations once again!

The 17th edition of the annul Rocky Point Rally roared through Puerto Peñasco Nov. 9th – 12th, surpassing expectations and drawing more than 8500 bikes to the city, along with at least 20,000 tourists!  Over the years, the Rocky Point Rally has transformed the second weekend of November into a must do event for “bikers” from across the southwestern U.S., northern Mexico, and up into Canada. The 2017 Rally also welcomed a group of over 20 bikers from Indonesia for the first time this year!

Among the yearly charitable efforts of the Rocky Point Rally, proceeds from registration fees, the Bike Show, and Charity Poker Run are donated to local organizations including: the Red Cross, Fire Department, George Papanicolaou Cancer Awareness and Prevention Group, CAM La Montaña school for children with special needs, the José Dávalos Valdivia home for the elderly, as well as the Municipal DIF offices (family and children services) in Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco. An additional donation is made to the Puerto Peñasco Student Home in Mexicali, helping local students further their university studies.  This year, funds raised from the Rocky Point Rally totaled $541,247 pesos (nearly $30,000 USD)! This is up from last year, as 2016 donations to the local charities totaled  383,066 pesos.

Save the dates!
