Zipline remains closed: May reopen 1 of 5 lines

By José Antonio Pérez

July 30, 2017.   Two weeks following an incident that left three people injured as a result, the zipline at “competition hill” on the way to La Cholla remains suspended, reports Civil Protection and Fire Department Director Francisco Javier Carrillo Ruiz.  He added, however, it is possible one of the five lines may be reopened in coming days while the company fulfills additional requirements, including that of having an outside company review the installations and confirm safety measures are adequate.

Of the five lines, the shortest at nearly 50 meters has not been affected at all, and may be reopened shortly. Carrillo Ruiz stressed his department continues to remain alert to structures for the extreme support, to ensure it may once again function safely.
