Zipline paused following tragic accident

On Saturday, Dec. 18th, a sixty-year-old U.S. man visiting Rocky Point with his wife and two older sons tragically passed away after a fall from the fourth stretch of the zipline located at La Loma de La Cholla.  After responding to a 911 call, the Fire Department rushed the man by ambulance to a local clinic, though he succumbed to injuries.

Civil Protection and Fire Director Alan Ontiveros López indicated the Rocky Point Zipline has been closed, and will remain suspended at least until a report can be issued by both the State Prosecutor’s Office and structural specialists from an outside company.
