Tis the season – Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!

As the final pilgrimage leading up to Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe (Dec.12) made its way through town tonight, it is apparent the holiday season is in full swing in Puerto Peñasco. Next on the holiday calendar are the posadas (from Dec. 16 – 24), which traditionally symbolize the travels of the Holy Family in the days leading up to Christmas. However nowadays, the term posadas is also synonymous with holiday office parties decking the halls. We’re also entering the “Lupe-Reyes marathon”, as it is often called, marking the time from Dec. 12th (Día de la Virgen) to Jan. 6th (Kings Day) and all the festivities that entails. So, let’s get started and rundown the weekend!

TRAVEL NOTE! The “short cut” to Sandy Beach when coming from Sonoyta is on pause for the moment due to a train derailment earlier this week. Plus, when coming into town Blvd. Juarez is blocked at the first stoplight for roadwork along that stretch. We recommend turning left at the first stoplight onto Blvd. Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez and then continue straight toward Las Conchas, or once on Blvd. Josefa Ortiz, turn right on Ave. Lopez Portillo which leads back to Blvd. Juarez (just south of Sam’s).
