While packing up for this holiday weekend in Rocky Point, may we kindly remind folks to bring sunscreen and maybe a cap or two for the beach. Don’t forget to drink lots of water and well, while we’re at it – be sure to check your tires before coming down and make sure you have a spare along with a lighter foot on the pedal than usual after crossing the border, not to mention keen eyesight to keep watch for folks working on the road. Yes, under rising temperatures and dabs of humidity, this was the week the pot hole situation between Sonoyta and Peñasco hit a climax as social networks lit up in an effort to help make sure vacation plans don’t hit any bumps in the road (or craters….as it were). While the road between here and there is a Federal Highway, city officials from both Peñasco and Sonoyta have responded to calls from residents and visitors alike, along with the local Chamber of Commerce and developments, to find a bandaid to the road situation (specifically between KM 18-30 heading South from Sonoyta…in my opinion). As always, please drive carefully and remain alert to road conditions plus those working on the road. Gracias!
