September to Remember – Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!

capones-rundownbannerRundown sponsored by Capone’s on Ave. Sinaloa

¡Viva! ¡Viva! It’s Mexican Independence Day! Along with the traditional celebratory fiestas, fireworks, and GRITO on the evening of September 15th, this year also marks a changing of the guard as it were at City Hall as Sept. 16th included the swearing in of new Mayor Ernesto “Kiko” Munro. At a state level, Sonora’s new Governor Claudia Pavlovich Arellano was sworn into office on September 13th. So, September has already been quite a month internally speaking. It also heralds the beginning of the shrimp season, first opening for pangas on Sept. 13th and then to larger shrimp boats on Sept. 24th. Ah yes, mid-September is also traditionally when humidity releases the city from its sweaty Summer grip – and we all look forward to October and some of the BEST WEATHER of the year! Let’s take a look ahead and run down the weekend! There are still some tickets for the WBA/WBO fight on the 26th, so be sure to get on that! Tickets available at La Fondita, local Circle Ks, and online
