Santa Claus Club warms the holidays once more

On a chilly December morning (49 degrees at 8:00 a.m.) in Rocky Point, John Fowler of the Santa Claus Club and his group of Elves (helpers) were out early. They were delivering food, clothing, and toys to the needy in the barrios of Rocky Point. The following day the group was planning on delivery bicycles.

With it being Christmas time and the world economy suffering so greatly, Karen Aldridge tells us it was truly wonderful to see “people helping people.” When the U.S. economy declined, Mexico was heavily impacted. The peso dropped dramatically. Jobs vanished and more and more people became homeless and could no longer afford to feed their families.

In watching the faces of the children light up when receiving a gift, one of the wives (of an Elf) started to shed a tear. Karen replied,”I know, it just makes you do that!”
