How can this be? We are just days away from the end of October! GASP!  Let’s get right to it and rundown the weekend. Get your engines going because there’s still lots in store for November!

Today – Friday, Oct. 25thposter-resbalon-octubre-20132-401x620 Run! Walk! Dance! Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!

6 p.m.  More than 30 altars will be on display at the local COBACH high school (across from Las Olas restaurant) in their traditional annual Día de los Muertos Altar contest.

8 p.m.  El Club de Leones (local Lion’s Club) has a night of dinner and dancing planned at La Cocina de Ramón at Sonoran Sea Resort. Tickets are 200 pesos/person and funds go to help support ongoing programs of the Club de Leones.

DIRTY BEACH MUD RUN Registration!  This evening from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. you can still register for mañana’s Dirty Beach Mud Run obstacle course. Registration going on Friday p.m. at Playa Bonita Hotel – plus we hear there are spectacular deals for locals at just 100 pesos/person and 50/pesos for kids.  You can also sign up at the Dirty Beach Mud Run course on Saturday, Oct. 26th, with the first set of mud-runners headed out in the morning.

Oct. 26th

Over the Line Softball will be taking over the fields – well, sands – near the Reef starting at 9 a.m.   Proceeds from the OTL Softball event go to the Santa Claus Club, which makes weekly deliveries of various items throughout the year. More information at:  www.santaclausclub.com

Dirty Beach Mud Run – Resbalón  – Back for a third time, at the renamed Rocky Point Speedway (formerly Thunder on the Beach), Mud Runners can hop over obstacles, run into the hills, crawl through tires, and just get plain dirty at this fantastic course set up around the Speedway’s racetrack.  SPECIAL DEAL FOR LOCALS  100 pesos/person!!!

caminata-san-peregrino-620x465 Run! Walk! Dance! Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!4:30 p.m.  The San Peregrino cancer group is hosting their 8th Annual Walk against Cancer and invites everyone to join. The march will begin from near the Centro de Salud on Ave. Simon Morua (across from La Estrellita Pemex stoplight) and make its way to the Malecón. Once the march reaches its end point, there will be luminarias for sale to then be lit and displayed across Plaza de los Gobernadores in honor of those confronting cancer.

pink-cadillac-oct-150x150 Run! Walk! Dance! Rocky Point Weekend Rundown!5 p.m.  Pink Cadillac in the Mirador will be hosting an evening of entertainment with the steel drum notes of Alfonzo. Stop by and enjoy the Caribbean night in the Mirador!

6 p.m.  In case you didn’t mud it up enough at the Rocky Point Speedway earlier in the day, you’ll get a chance to see dirt fly at the Speedway’s evening Sand Drags with entry at just $2.50 US per person.

Oh, and look around your favorite drinking holes on Saturday for early Halloween parties!
