Roger Clyne & PH Naffah headed for Rocky Point! 10/13

By Shandra Keesecker-Rivero

Rocky Point + October = Rocktober. Add a little Roger Clyne and PH Naffah into the mix and you’ve got the makings for both Refreshments and Mexican Moonshine. RC / PH will be bringing tunes, stories, and down to earth humor to Wrecked at the Reef on Oct. 13th as part of their acoustic duo tour through CA – (with a quick stop in Mexico) – and continuing on to the Northeast.

RC-PH-Oct-012-413x620 Roger Clyne & PH Naffah headed for Rocky Point! 10/13When touring with RCPM (which let me say the band did a lot this year for the Road to Circus Mexicus Tour – then Circus Mexicus XXI in Rocky Point followed by the Hangover Tour), PH Naffah is usually found behind a drum kit. However, during the acoustic performances his repertoire expands to use of the cajón, guitar, and vocals while Roger adds his voice and plays the harmonica, acoustic guitar, and possibly even a kazoo. Dispersed within the music are influences from salsa, reggae, folk, and American guitar “driven by rock ‘n roll,” promoters tell us.

Roger and PH will have just completed a mini tour together through California before their October 13th gig at Wrecked. Why are they coming down in October? Because they can! Remember the days before Circus Mexicus became a June event, and used to also come down in the Fall? Who wouldn’t want to come to Puerto Peñasco in October?

The Arizona band Black Carl will open for RC/PH on the 13th, after playing the night before at JJ’s – with opener Jason Boots (Tickets for JJ’s Oct. 12 $5 US at the door).  Plus, we hear there may be some surprises in store from Roger and PH for Rocky Point over the weekend – we can’t wait!

Welcome back to Rocky Point, amigos – es su casa! Here’s to Life!
