In response to a campaign to promote reading, launched by Channel 22 of the National Board for Culture and the Arts, the City of Puerto Peñasco, along with the Cine Club Primera Toma, A.C. and Bistro Café & Bar recently put on the event “Reading together” with author Guillermo Munro.
The gathering was held on Thursday, July 19th at 7 p.m. with more than 40 people in attendance, all of whom were interested in reading one of the author’s chapters; the decision was made to read the first chapter of Munro’s novel “El camino del diablo” (Highway of the Devil), which was distributed to 18 readers while the others participated by listening. At the end of the reading a type of literary workshop was held in which those in attendance presented the author with questions and comments.
The call for the gathering, along with the attendance of a diverse public, can deem the event a success given that this type of function to promote reading normally does not draw more than 20 people. Therefore, organizers as well as Guillermo Munro Palacio were quite satisfied for having organized this first reading circle of the summer.
During the reading, an episode for Channel 22 was filmed with the purpose of showing the event and supporting the national campaign of “reading together” with an author, who on this occasion was Guillermo Munro.
Those in attendance included Dr. Ernesto Guevara Del Campo, Prof. Ramón Hernández, don Roberto Escalante Ramírez, Isela Gamboa, Paty Gracida, Katy Colosio, Estela Hernández, Rey David, Guille Salazar, María Dolores Badilla, Conchita Peralta, Maru Zacatelco, Lucy Bustamante, las tres hermanas Castro Salazar, Fausto Soto Irineo, Yolanda Peñuelas, among many others.
Hosts of the event included members from the Cine Club and Angélica Irineo de Soto. Amidst hugs, an exchange of opinions, and fun, the entire group of reading promoters ended the night with the firm commitment to continue promoting different activities surrounding culture and the arts in Puerto Peñasco.
Leamos juntos con Guillermo Munro Palacio

Atendiendo la campaña de fomento a la lectura lanzada por el Canal 22 del Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes, el XX Ayuntamiento de Puerto Peñasco, a través del Cine Club Primera Toma, A.C. y el Bistro Café & Bar, llevaron a cabo el evento “Leamos juntos” con el escritor Guillermo Munro.
La cita fue el pasado jueves, 19 de julio en punto de las 7 de la tarde, al lugar asistieron más de 40 personas interesadas en leer uno de los capítulos del escritor; se decidió leer el primer capítulo de la novela “El camino del diablo”, el cual fue repartido entre 18 lectores, los demás participando como oyentes. Al finalizar se realizó una especie de taller literario donde los asistentes realizaron sus preguntas y comentarios al escritor.
La convocatoria y asistencia del público diverso se puede considerar un éxito, ya que en este tipo de eventos de fomento a la lectura por lo regular no pasan de 20 personas; así que los organizadores y el mismo Guillermo Munro Palacio se sintieron muy satisfechos de haber organizado esta primera tertulia literaria del verano. Durante la lectura se filmó una cápsula la cual se mandará al Canal 22 con el fin de mostrar el evento y apoyo a la campaña nacional de {leamos juntos} con el escritor, en esta ocasión, Guillermo Munro.
El Dr. Ernesto Guevara Del Campo, el Prof. Ramón Hernández, don Roberto Escalante Ramírez, Isela Gamboa, Paty Gracida, Katy Colosio, Estela Hernández, Rey David, Guille Salazar, María Dolores Badilla, Conchita Peralta, Maru Zacatelco, Lucy Bustamante, las tres hermanas Castro Salazar, Fausto Soto Irineo, Yolanda Peñuelas, entre otras personalidades estuvieron presentes. Como anfitriones algunos de los integrantes del Cine Club y Angélica Irineo de Soto. Entre abrazos, intercambio de opiniones, convivio y esparcimiento, el grupo completo de promotores de la lectura se despidieron con el firme compromiso de seguir en el fomento de las diversas actividades en torno a la cultura y las artes de Puerto Peñasco.
