This Thursday, Nov. 17, the suave sounds of Mexican bohemian guitarist Nicho Hinojosa will be on stage at the conference/event hall area of Peñasco del Sol Hotel, starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Peñasco del Sol Reception desk and are 380 pesos for the VIP section, and 280 pesos for general admission. Tickets will also be on sale at the front door on the evening of the event.
Este jueves, el 17 de noviembre, los sonidos suaves del guitarrista Mexicano Nicho Hinojosa se presentarán desde el escenario de eventos en el hotel Peñasco del Sol. El concierto empieza a las 9 p.m. y los boletos estan a: 380 pesos VIP o 280 pesos general Se puede adquirir los boletos en la recepción del Hotel, así como en la puerta el día del evento.
According to Hinojosa’s official site, the artist who is originally from the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, studied music at the Superior School of Music and Dance in Monterrey where he specialized in percussions and picked up other instruments including piano, the French horn, guitar, and song.
In 1993 he joined the group Guitars for the World, recording two records and touring throughout Romania, the Netherlands, the US, and of course Mexico. On his ninth album, titled In the Bar (En El Bar), he recorded a series of songs by different well-known artists, though with his certain Nicho style and with solely a guitar accompanying his voice. He swiftly conquered the hearts of millions and continued this success with albums such as In the Bar 2, In the Bar 3, and From North to South, among others.
Thanks to Nicho’s recordings of many classic songs from the “new Cuban trova”, such as Silvio Rodríguez’s “Ojala”, many people became aware of this style of music which led to the often controversial title of “troubadour”, although he would preferred to be called a “bohemian singer.” His most recent album, entitled The Number 1s includes various hits both in audio and video.

Según el sitio oficial de Hinojosa, el cantante y guitarrista nació el 29 de noviembre de 1968 en la ciudad de Monterrey Nuevo León México.
Estudió música en la Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de la ciudad de donde es originario, especializándose en percusiones y tomando como instrumentos adicionales el piano, el corno francés, la guitarra y el canto.
En 1993 se unió al grupo GUITARRAS POR EL MUNDO, con quienes grabó dos discos y realizó una gira a través de Rumania, Holanda, Estados Unidos de Norteamérica y por supuesto La República Mexicana. En su novena producción discográfica titulada EN EL BAR grabó una serie de temas (de diferentes compositores) ya conocidos en la voz de otros cantantes, pero debido a que Nicho les imprimió su propio estilo (nuevas versiones) acompañando su peculiar voz solo por una guitarra, rápidamente conquistó el corazón de millones de personas y continuó triunfando con producciones tales como EN EL BAR 2, EN EL BAR 3 Y DE NORTE A SUR por mencionar algunas.
La carrera de Nicho ha sido un tanto polémica debido a que gracias a él, mucha gente que hasta antes de que Hinojosa grabara temas clásicos de la nueva trova cubana, como OJALA de Silvio Rodríguez, ni siquiera tenían idea de que existieran y ello le dio origen al controvertido título de trovador, aunque el mismo prefiere denominarse cantante bohemio. Su más reciente producción discográfica se titula LAS NÚMERO 1 en donde se incluyen varios éxitos en audio y video.
