Earlier this year, the local Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) held an informational meeting with local English-speaking business owners and professionals as a way to help inform members of the community as to what CANACO has to offer. In furthering this goal of bringing the Mexican and foreign business communities of Puerto Peñasco together, on Wednesday, September 25th, business owners and professionals of all backgrounds are invited to join CANACO for their first “Mixer”, which is to be held at Puesta del Sol Restaurant at Playa Bonita Hotel from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Those already affiliated with CANACO, and those wishing to learn more about the local Chamber of Commerce are invited to attend.
Recently appointed CANACO President Gustavo Antonio Turati Hernández has been working closely with local businesswoman Kit Anderson of Peñasco Beauty Center to organize the Mixer event, noting, “We have been working with the American community and with foreign business owners who have lived here for various years. They themselves requested we have a get together that was more social, or rather less formal, to get to know the CANACO executive board and council.”
Turati Hernández, former CANACO Secretary, was recently appointed to fill the shoes of former CANACO President Antonio Mendívil upon his departure for another work opportunity elsewhere in Mexico.
“This is an open event,” explained Turati, “In fact, if there are people from the Mexican community, as well as from the U.S. [foreign] community, who would like to participate they are more than welcome.”
For the event, Puesta del Sol restaurant at Playa Bonita will be offering a complimentary drink to “CANACO Mixers”, along with hors d’oeuvres and extended Happy Hour specials! Depending on turn out, which Turati hopes to draw in at least 50 people, this may be the first of other CANACO Mixers to come as a benefit for the growing business community in Puerto Peñasco!
CANACO planea convivio social

Hace unos meses, la oficina local de la Cámara Nacional de Comercio (CANACO) celebró una reunión informativa con comerciantes y profesionistas angloparlantes, proporcionándoles información referente a la CANACO. Al seguir la meta de unir a las dos comunidades de empresarios, tanto mexicanos como extranjeros, y romper la barrera del lenguaje por el bien de los habitantes de Puerto Peñasco, el miércoles, 25 de septiembre la CANACO se llevará a cabo un “Convivio Social” en las instalaciones del restaurante Puesta del Sol en el Hotel Playa Bonita, de 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Se les invita tanto a los que ya se encuentran afiliados con la CANACO, así como los no-afiliados pero interesados en acercarse a la Cámara, a asistir el convivio.
Recientemente nombrado Presidente de la CANACO en Puerto Peñasco, Gustavo Antonio Turati Hernández, ha estado trabajando estrechamente con la comerciante Kit Anderson de Peñasco Beauty Center para organizar el evento, y señaló: “Ya hemos tenido acercamientos con la comunidad americana, los empresarios extranjeros que tienen varios años de vivir aquí, de comerciar aquí. Ellos mismos solicitaron un acercamiento un poquito más social, un poquito menos formal, para conocer a los miembros de la mesa directiva y del consejo.”
Turati Hernández, ex Secretario de la CANACO, fue recientemente nombrado para ocupar el lugar del ex presidente de la CANACO, Antonio Mendívil, a su salida para otra oportunidad de trabajo en la Ciudad de México.
“Es un evento abierto”, explicó Turati, “Si algunas personas de la comunidad mexicana quisieran participar, así como de la comunidad americana [extranjera], son bienvenidos.”
Para el evento, el restaurante Puesta del Sol en Playa Bonita proporcionará una bebida en la recepción, bocadillos, y extenderá el costo de consumo de la “Hora Feliz” hasta las 8 p.m.
Turati espera la asistencia de alrededor 50 personas, y si hay una buena respuesta al evento y es benéfico para todos, este pudiera ser el primero de otros convivios similares.
