mark-mulligan-oct013-401x620 Mark Mulligan and Trop-Rock ..tober!For a second year in a row, October is turning out to be Rocktober – or should we say Trop-Rocktober?  After grabbing two nominations from the Trop Rock Music Association, Puerto Peñasco’s favorite trop-rocker Mark Mulligan will be heading to town on October 4th for a one night show at Caribbean Parrot with fun starting around 5 p.m. Entrance will be free though Caribbean Parrot will be requesting donations for local charities. On his calendar site, Mark explains “100% will be staying in the Rocky Point community!”

Mark’s latest album Back to Laid Back is nominated for the 2013 TRMA Awards, while his song Too Much Wishing, Not Enough Fishing is up for Song of the Year.  Last year, Mark delighted folks in Puerto Peñasco with songs from Back to Laid Back, along with picks from his previous albums, as he strummed away at Mexican Beach Bum (now Beach Bum) on the Malecón. He says he’s honored to be nominated for the two 2013 TRMA Awards, which will be held Oct. 31st in Key West once voting closes at www.troprock.org .

Before making his way to our shores in early October, Mark can be found at Aunt Chiladas in Phoenix on Sept. 18th for a Yarnell Fire Benefit Show, and in Tucson on Sept. 21st at Continental Ranch. It’ll be good to have Mark back in town, and we at Rocky Point 360 still remember making it to our first Mark Mulligan gig up at Latitude 31!  Hasta pronto, Mark!
