Living Stones opens building in San Rafael

On Saturday, June 20, 2015, the Living Stones Ministry Christian Community Center in San Rafael, celebrated the purchasing of the building located on Callejón Benito Juarez and 64th Avenue. The enthusiastic audience welcomed the blessing by Pastora Laura of the Good Samaritan Church 2 in San Rafael with Mark Higgins, Co-Founder of Living Stones Ministries in attendance, as well as Rev, Michael Birnbaum of International Service Learning (ISL).

Living-Stones-RPt-2-630x649 Living Stones opens building in San RafaelISL provides a program that brings students to Peñasco (and eleven other places around the world) to learn and provide health, dental services to the community. Rev, Birnbaum stated, “…this beautiful place is an ideal climate to spread the good news and the peace that follows the principles of true Christian practice applied to family welfare and also a place to provide all humanitarian aid we can find”.

Mark Higgins similarly remarked, “Open to all the different congregations and churches in Puerto Peñasco, Living Stones Ministries, Mexico has formed a Board of both nationalities with a common objective==teaching the love in the Holy Scriptures; bringing food to the table of those in need, supplying medical support in various specialties and giving quality time in educating children and to do so, we now have our own building.”

“Living Stones,” he continued, “is working with diverse companies and organizations for donations, including from Frutería California, Gas Continental del Pacífico, Hydrogas de Aqua Prieta, Oasis Purified Water, Fish Market, International Service Learning and American Home Services. In conjunction, other donors include: Ron and Mary Kaiser, Ron and Carol Okinga, as well as the support of many churches and other friends both from Mexico and the United States. We have much to do and we invite you to join us.”

The audience was encouraged to help with donations of money and/or food or time. As the programs provided all have expenses attached to them. The kitchen can use food/protein donations or any items that would assist in providing lunch to people Monday through Friday.

The Center’s other programs include: English Classes, Computer Classes, Spanish Reading and Writing, the Gardening Project, the Composting Project, Bible Study and the Kids Activities.
