2. A stop by Mercedes’ Rusticos:  Though it may be challenging to maneuver through the Old Port with all the road work, a stop by Mercedes is always worth it to see the fantastic collection of decorative items, from ceramics to hand blown glass, ornaments, furniture, and more.

4. Ironwood sculptures. Ironwood can be found in the high sierras in Sonora, and there are at least two manufacturers here in Rocky Point that turn these pieces into incredible art pieces.

6. Tequila! Yes, that’s right you can pick up Tequila here in Peñasco. There’s Tequila Peñasco, which can be found from Reggie’s to the Tequila Factory, or maybe you would prefer Roger Clyne’s Mexican Moonshine – available at Lil’Wrecked in the Old Port.

7. Spa certificates. Come on, who’s with me?  What better way to pamper your holiday sweetie than with the gift of a day at the spa?  Various options around town include Sonoran Spa and other spots along Sandy Beach, Acqua in town, or maybe even out for a day at Mayan Palace.

8. A Christmas tree! Don’t forget to pick up a tree at one of the local supermarkets, or along Blvd. Juarez (across from Pollo Lucas) before they run out!

10.  Hot chocolate & stirrer.  One of the traditions at this time of the year is hot chocolate, or even champurrado (a thicker type of chocolate, made with water). At many local artisans shops you can still pick up the “rattle type” stirrer to bring your hot chocolate to perfection.
