“Hoops Force” Professional basketball camp in Puerto Peñasco was a success!

Adding to sports fever surrounding the 2012 London Olympics, we turn to Hoops camp here in Rocky Point!

basketball-camp-620x465 “Hoops Force” Professional basketball camp in Puerto Peñasco was a success!Over this past weekend, the “Hoops Force” brought together nearly 30 basketball campers ranging in age from 8 to 18, illustrating a positive response froom the Peñasco community. The camp was held at the Leandro Valle Municipal gym and led by professional basketball players Enrique Villarreal and Michael Núñez, both of whom have played with the professional Mexican league of the LNBP, as well as with FIBA America.

Gerardo López, Coordinator of the Municipal Sports Institute and camp promoter, commented that this year the clinics included new methods of teaching about the sport from physical conditioning, individual performance, as well as teamwork surrounding both defense and offense.

López added that both Enrique Villarreal as well as Michael Núñez were pleased with the overall response from Peñasco families, given that many family members accompanied their children as spectators from the bleachers. He also expressed appreciation for the City and the Municipal Sports Institute for helping make this camp possible, noting interest for it to return in November.

TODO UN ÉXITO EL CAMPAMENTO DE BASQUETBOL DE PROFESIONALES                ´´UNA FUERZA HOOPS´´ EN PUERTO PEÑASCO

Puerto Peñasco Sonora, Mex… 29/Julio/2012… Con cerca de 30 basquetbolistas de entre los ocho a dieciocho años de edad y con buena respuesta de la comunidad Peñasquense, este fin de semana culmino el campamento de basquetbol ´´UNA FUERZA HOOPS´´ El cual se desarrollo en el Gimnasio Municipal Leandro Valle y fue impartido por los profesionales, Enrique Villarreal y Michael Núñez, ambos jugadores con experiencia en el baloncesto profesional mexicano de las LNBP, así como la FIBA América.

Gerardo López, Coordinador del Instituto Municipal del Deporte en la localidad y promotor de dicho Campamento, comento que este año, las clínicas trajeron nuevos métodos de enseñanza del deporte ráfaga, que van desde acondicionamiento físico, desempeño individual en la duela, así como el hacer equipo tanto en tácticas defensivas como ofensivas.

Gerardo López, comento que tanto Enrique Villarreal, como Michael Núñez, se mostraron muy contentos con la respuesta de las familias de Puerto Peñasco, ya que algunos de ellos acompañaron a sus hijos desde las gradas; así también, expresaron su agradecimiento al Ayuntamiento Municipal y al Instituto Municipal del Deporte, por hacer posible dicho campamento, del cual expresaron su interés  de regresar el próximo mes de Noviembre.
