Countdown to Spring Break – Passports and a place to stay

us-passport Countdown to Spring Break – Passports and a place to stayThough the semester seems like it just began, it’s never too early to start thinking about Spring Break – particularly if you’re making plans to hit the beaches in Rocky Point this year! So, first things first…got your passport?

Since 2009, now when traveling outside of the U.S., citizens need to have a passport or passport card to get back home stateside. With about 5 to 6 weeks between now and the beginning of Spring Break, it’s the ideal time to head down to a local post office (many of which can help with the passport process) and get the paperwork going. You can also try to go through an expedited process that takes only about 2 – 3 weeks.  Need to apply for a new passport, or looking to renew…. visit: http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/get_4855.html  For passport cards https://ceac.state.gov/pptcard/form/complete/getting_started.aspx  (good for international travel between the US and Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean).

Ok, now that the passport process is underway – or if you already have a passport and are a well-seasoned traveler, you know the next step is to figure out where you’ll be staying. Right now hotels all over Rocky Point are beginning to advertise special Spring Break rates, and some rental agencies are offering great deals on beachside digs (check with rental companies about any specific policies for Spring Break groups).  The best spot to find links to plenty of hotels around town is www.cometorockypoint.com plus be sure to check out the Stay tab from our homepage.

So, go ahead…get that passport….find a room….plan for Spring Break in Rocky Point!  Next week…..Spring Break in Rocky Point – What to do? What to do? What to do?
