The Municipal Administration will work to ensure our city is projected as one of the most important tourist spots in the region, stressed Engineer Eduardo Martínez during an inauguration ceremony celebrating “World Tourism Day” at the Superior Technological Institute of Puerto Peñasco (ITSPP). (World Tourism Day is Sept. 27*) Martínez, personal secretary to Mayor Prof. Gerardo Figueroa Zazueta, was present on behalf of the Mayor and in charge of launching work within the framework of ITSPP’s National Science and Technology Week, which also included the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Tourism lab for those studying business administration. Martínez told students Mayor Figueroa has a special interest in seeing our Port become one of the best destinations, not just within the region but also nationally and abroad. ITSPP Director, Rafael Lara Mungarro, expressed his appreciation to municipal authorities for their commitment to working as a team in order to provide benefits to local institutions, while also focusing on such an important theme for Pto. Peñasco – that of tourism.

Each year a different theme is selected for further development, this year’s theme is “Tourism and Sustainable Energy: Propellers of Sustainable Development.” Official celebrations this year were to be held today, 9/27, in Maspalomas, Gran Canary Islands Spain. The goal of this year’s theme is to highlight the role of tourism in a brighter energy future, a future in which the entire global population has access to modern, efficient, and affordable energy.
It is worth noting that tourism is now at the forefront of some of the most ambitious and innovative clean energy solutions in the world: air travel is using cutting edge technology to make planes lighter, commercial flights are beginning to use biofuels along with carbon fuel, hotel rooms across the world are implementing more and more use of magnetic keys and low water-consumption toilets, and tourism operators are demanding not only energy efficiency in all of their chains, but also comfort and elegancy, particularly for the growing area of ecotourism. One curious note: Sept. 27th as World Tourism Day is particularly appropriate as this corresponds to the end of the high tourism season in the Northern hemisphere, and the beginning of such in the Southern hemisphere – at a time when tourism is a a current topic for hundreds of thousands of people across the globe within all sectors, for tourists, and particularly for tourism providers.

Realizan ceremonia por motivo del “Día Mundial de Turismo”
Puerto Peñasco; 27 de Septiembre.- El Gobierno Municipal trabajará para que nuestra ciudad se proyecte como uno de los polos turísticos más importantes de la región, destacó Eduardo Martínez, al inaugurar la ceremonia con motivo del “Día Mundial del Turismo” realizada en las instalaciones del Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Puerto Peñasco (ITSPP).
En representación del alcalde Profesor Gerardo Figueroa Zazueta, su secretario particular fue el encargado de arrancar los trabajos en el marco de la semana de Ciencia y Tecnología, donde también se realizó el corte de listón del laboratorio de turismo de la carrera de Administración de Empresas.
Ante la presencia de los jóvenes que conforman esta casa de estudios, Martínez destacó que la presente administración que encabeza Figueroa Zazueta tiene especial interés que nuestro Puerto se convierte en uno de los mejores destinos no solo a nivel regional sino también nacional y en el ámbito internacional.
Resaltó lo importante de trabajar en este rubro, por lo que el Gobierno se coordinará con las distintas instancias para hacer equipo y sumar esfuerzos y con ello lograr que este paradisiaco lugar brinde uno de los mejores servicios y atención a nuestros visitantes.
El ingeniero Martínez, felicitó a todos los estudiantes en su mayoría alumnos de la carrera de Administración de Empresas Turísticas por formar parte de este tipo de actividades lo cual contribuye a que se formen buenos profesionistas al servicio de su comunidad.
Por su parte, el director del plantel, Rafael Lara Mungarro, agradeció a las autoridades municipales el compromiso que existe de hacer equipo para brindar beneficios a las instituciones educativas de la localidad y al mismo tiempo preocuparse en un tema tan importante para Peñasco como lo es el turismo.
Durante la semana de Ciencia y Tecnología la máxima casa de estudios de Puerto Peñasco contará con la participación de distintos empresarios quienes participarán en conferencias sobre desarrollo sustentable, exhibiciones de periódico mural, fotografía, entre otras actividades.
