Grab your spoons! There will be two chili cook-off events this weekend at the Playa de Oro RV Park in the Mirador area, with proceeds from today’s cook-off (Jan. 13) going to the terrific activities of the Santa Claus Club. Program notes indicate tastings and such will be going on from about 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on both days, and there is a social event planned for Friday evening (check the posters at the park). While you’re in the Mirador area of town, why not stop by the American Legion’s Garage Sale and Flea Market just down the block from Playa de Oro (up the street by Pink Cadillac) on either Fri. or Sat., and as you drive back on Sinaloa Ave. on Saturday the 14th you can also run by the Farmers Market & Art Fair located behind Don Julio’s (just off Blvd. Fremont)!
