70% progress on equipping of Dialysis Center

Samuel Ortega Castro, Director of the local Office on Integral Family Development (DIF) assures they will soon be receiving the first of five dialysis machines for the city’s highly anticipated Dialysis Center.

He added that clinical testing on water to be used for the dialysis machines, which comes from the clinic’s own treatment equipment, has resulted favorable.

Ortega Castro noted meetings have been held with health professionals, including directors from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), with the goal that dialysis services be subrogated through that institution in order to help benefit its patients.

It is worth noting this clinic, which is located just behind the General Hospital in the northern part of the city, will offer care to those suffering from renal disease, as well as for patients with hepatitis and HIV, among other diseases transmitted by blood. This is why the clinic will possess five machines in all, each for a specific usage.

Following the recent Rodeo and Rotary dance with Sonora Dinamita, some of the proceeds from which will go to the Dialysis project, the next fundraising endeavor will come from donations of a percentage from the October 11th Craft Beer – CheveFest to be held next to Laos Mar Hotel. The Fest will include beer tasting of several craft beers from the region, along with the headline presentation of El Mastuerzo y los Jijos de Maíz. Tickets for the Chevefest are 200 pesos and now available at El Tapeo wine bar, DIF, and at the offices of Rocky Point 360.
