2015 Labor Day tourism forecast tops 2014!

More than 40 thousand tourists from the U.S. are expected to hit the beaches in Puerto Peñasco over the U.S. Labor Day Weekend.

Puerto Peñasco anticipates 10% more visitors over last year this Labor Day Weekend, according to reservation data from local hotels and condominium rental agencies.

Information provided by the local Convention and Visitors Bureau shows that just before the busy weekend, area hotels and condo rentals in the highly sought after tourism areas and along the beach are reporting 96% reservation rates.

In comparison, in 2014 the Labor Day occupation rates registered at 80% for the weekend itself, which falls at the beginning of September and “symbolically” represents the winding down of summer vacation for many.

With this holiday weekend, the peak tourism season comes to a close with statistics pointing to 1.5 million visitors to the area so far this year, or rather 100,000 visitors over numbers during the same period in 2014.
