Building relationships through business is the motto of the 2012 Peñasco Business Expo, set to take place Saturday, May 26th at Shrimp Plaza. A busy Memorial Day weekend offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors and residents alike, from the Mexican and foreign community, to learn more about the wide array of businesses Puerto Peñasco has to offer…from food to health, fun, professional services, real estate, tourism, and more.
This year’s Business Expo, sponsored by the local chapter of the Mexican Association of Professional Realtors (known by its Spanish initials as AMPI) will provide everyone a chance to become more familiar with many businesses across town – plus fun for all with music, raffles, and entertainment. A portion of the proceeds from the Business Expo will go to the local DIF (Office on Integral Family Development) and the Fire Department. In addition, the Business Expo will provide the opportunity to learn more about the Tourism and Visitors Assistance Office (TVA), which is a local venture that provides three particular areas of services for visitors here in town: 1. referral services (kind of like a Better Business Bureau), 2. 24-hour phone assistance (in Spanish & English), and 3. as a liaison with city offices at times. The independent TVA should not be confused with the official Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV), which works closely with area hotels to develop promotional campaigns, inviting people to Puerto Peñasco events throughout the year. Organizers are currently collecting raffle donations from booth holders, as well as from other area businesses and raffle tickets will be available soon for pre-purchase, plus of course throughout the day of the event.
